For the past fifteen years, the Villa Renata art space has been an integral part of Basel’s art scene. Each year, 5–7 exhibitions are held here; these include guest exhibitions, but are primarily in-house productions or collaborative presentations. The space showcases both emerging and established artists in solo and group exhibitions from the region, throughout Switzerland, and neighboring countries. The art space is located in a neoclassical building dating from 1871. The building features a total of eleven exhibition rooms spread across three floors. The property includes a large, wild garden, which also serves as an exhibition space. Since 2022, the garage adjacent to the villa has also been regularly used for exhibitions.
