Dieses Ausstellung besteht aus einer Reihe von Videos, die zu erweitertem Denken und kollaborativen Prozessen in der Druckgrafik anregen und in denen Soft Mechanics und Edition POW! vorgestellt werden – beide sind Teil der Reihe «Alive! Contemporary Printmaking» von druckwerk, Juni 2026.

Soft Mechanics Eine ortsspezifische Installation von Altherr/Weiss, die das industrielle Erbe in ein eindringliches Erlebnis verwandelt. Presented by The Racket Club.

'Altherr/Weiss visualise the circulation of paper through the presses, translating motion into three-dimensional form. Paper becomes sculpture: voluminous, cloud-like, suspended in time. Where the machines are heavy and immovable, the paper is amplified into something airy, fragile and accumulative. It is a meditation on the beauty of industrial process, and the importance of creative process in the communication of ideas and sharing of knowledge.

The machines at druckwerk represent generations of practice at risk of disappearing in an increasingly digitized world. The installation's billowing paper forms also speak to a broader paradox: The shapes we associate with digital immateriality, clouds, data, and the weightless promise of the internet are, in reality, sustained by physical infrastructure of enormous environmental cost. Paper, cast iron, and human hands offer a different kind of weight.' (The Racket Club, 2026)

Die Reihe «Alive! Contemporary Printmaking» von druckwerk findet im ikonischen Gebäude der Brauerei Warteck statt und bringt Warteck damit zurück in den Kreis der Satellitenausstellungen der Art Basel Week. Das Programm beleuchtet die zeitgenössische Druckgrafik aus vielfältigen Blickwinkeln, freut sich über ihre interdisziplinäre Reichweite und unterstreicht ihre Ausdruckskraft, die über die Multiplizität hinausgeht.

druckwerk wurde 1995 gegründet und ist ein kollektives Atelier, das sich gleichzeitig der Pflege des traditionellen Wissens im Bereich der Druckgrafik und der Sicherung ihrer fortwährenden Rolle als Medium der zeitgenössischen Kunst widmet.
