New Jerseyy wurde 2008 von Daniel Baumann, Tobias Madison, Emanuel Rossetti und Dan Solbach gegründet. Mathis Altmann kam im Frühling 2012 dazu, Anina Trösch im Herbst. New Jerseyy wurde am 7. Mai 2008 eröffnet und am 31. Dezember 2013 geschlossen.
New Jerseyy wurde unterstützt vom Bundesamt für Kultur, der Christoph Merian Stiftung, der Ernst und Olga Gubler-Hablützel Stiftung, der Fondation Nestlé pour l'Art, dem Migros Kulturprozent, der George Stiftung, der Nordtangente-Kunsttangente und der Stiftung Roldenfund.
